Henry Onyekuruwon’t return to Anderlecht next season

Everton’s on-loan striker Henry Onyekuru has confirmed that he won’t be returned to the Jupiler League for the 2018/19 campaign. The Nigeria international joined the Toffees from KAS Eupen last summer but the inability to secure a work permit saw him join Belgium heavyweights Anderlecht on a season-long loan.

The 21-year-old thereafter contributed 10 goals for Anderlecht across all competitions but his campaign was hampered midway through the season after sustaining a long-term knee problem. Onyekuru is currently on the road to recovery following the setback but he is said to have no plans of returning to Belgium with Anderlecht. He told CSN: “One thing I can tell you for sure is that I won’t be playing in Belgium next season. There are offers from top clubs in Germany, Spain and in England but that depends on my work permit, we know how difficult that is.”

During his interview, Onyekuru hinted that there is potential interest from England, but the work permit is likely to hinder his chances of participating in the top-flight. Nevertheless, the Toffees have no plans to offload the Nigerian anytime soon and Marco Silva is expected to decide the fate of the forward once the players rejoin for pre-season training.

Meanwhile, Onyekuru spoke about the recent results of the Nigerian national side and the 21-year-old is confident that the Super Eagles will raise their game during the World Cup opener against Croatia, he added: “The friendlies should be used to correct errors in the team and also get solution to problems noticed. Many expected so much from them but they didn’t do well in the friendlies but trust me I know these players, I have trained with them, I am confident that they will raise their game on Saturday against Croatia to win.” Nigeria have not won any of their recent warm-up games with one draw and two defeats.

Sam Allardyce Insists He Has Had A Positive Impact At Everton

Everton manager Sam Allardyce has stressed that he has had a positive impact with the club unlike stated by some of the club’s supporters. The 63-year-old took over the reigns from caretaker David Unsworth when the Toffees were placed 13th on the table in November and he has since managed to push the club to eighth in the standings with one game left in the campaign.

Speaking ahead of the final game against West Ham, Allardyce insisted that he has not had a negative influence on the Toffees and highlighted that the January signings of Theo Walcott and Cenk Tosun have made a difference towards the club’s campaign, he said: “We recruited two players who have been very influential in January, one that’s scored goals and one that’s both made and scored goals. I have not had any setbacks, I am off the crutches and out of the brace and almost back to walking normally. Football Specials Markets

The range of special markets on bookmaker websites continue to grow as punters find more ways of getting involved. These markets have developed massively over the last few years and the bookies are always looking for new ways to develop their websites with cutting edge selections that excite their customers.

These special markets are so enticing to football punters that they can even appear as being more favourable to traditional means of betting. Some websites cover all the specials on offer from the country’s top bookmakers. Oddschanger fall into this category with their own Oddschanger Football Specials page devoted entirely to these transfer specials, price boosts, enhanced accumulators and everything in between.

Frequently appearing specials on bookie websites:

Enhanced Accumulators and Price Boosts
Working as the go-to special market on all major sports betting websites, enhanced prices on a specific team or a handful of teams to win in their games appear almost daily.

Most of these sorts of bets come without the ability to cash out but that doesn’t make them any less desirable, as punters love to see a bet they would have backed anyway, but at superior odds. It’s also something that bookmakers will battle over for the best enhancement, resulting with an even better price for you to get behind.

Manager & Transfer Markets
Predicting the outcome of managerial moves or player transfers can be thrilling to some punters and they always have a novelty feel, as the chances of these bets coming into fruition can be extremely slim. Markets on clubs, players and managers are open throughout the season, as well as when there’s no football on at all, and they’re an interesting way of spicing up a lack of activity in the sport.

Whether it’s based on reasoning behind historical circumstances or someone who’s supposedly ‘in the know’ on social media, backing a player to move to a specific team or a manager to take charge of a specific club can be very exciting, so it’s no question why so many bookmakers offer these markets.

Facts & Figures Betting
Surely the newest of additions to the Oddschanger Football Specials page, backing facts and figures has become the next big thing in betting and it’s helped by the many variations of it. Not only can you get behind statistics like a team to win the league, finish in the top half, bottom half, or find themselves relegated, but you can also add in such things as a player to be crowned as top scorer in a given division.

Bets inside the facts and figures category also include actual statistics like we see in the gradually growing pre-match markets consisting of specific players to achieve a number of shots on target, shots in general, fouls or successful tackles. As a special market, these consist of players to score a certain number of goals throughout their career or push into their national team, and they’re growing in popularity

Sam Allardyce Would Have Prevented Ross Barkley’s Sale, Claims Moshiri

Everton owner Farhad Moshiri claims that Chelsea could have missed out on signing Ross Barkley due to a late intervention from Sam Allardyce. The newly appointed manager was keen to keep Barkley at the club. However, it was becoming increasingly difficult, as the 24-year-old only had six months left on his contract. Chelsea took advantage of the situation by signing the player for £ 15 million. Only six months ago, the blues had a £ 35 million bid accepted but the player turned on the move to Stamford Bridge. It was suggested that he was holding out for a move to Arsenal or Tottenham.

Rather than sell the player for nothing, Everton found it suitable to get the player go for around £ 15 million. Allardyce has been appointed as the permanent replacement for Ronald Koeman. His arrival has coincided with a significant jump in form. However, it is understood that Allardyce is not happy with the transfer dealings at Everton.

Sam Allardyce Hints At Recruiting More Champions League Players

Everton manager Sam Allardyce has plans on recruiting more players with Champions League experience after having ran a secret scouting mission on Sevilla during their round of 16 tie versus Manchester United. The Andalusian outfit dominated the proceedings against the Red Devils in both legs, and they eventually ran 2-1 victors with Steven N’Zonzi starring across both legs.

Allardyce has openly spoken about his admiration for N’Zonzi during his previous years, and he admitted that the Toffees need more players with European experience to improve the overall attributes of the squad, he said: “You’ve got to find out about the players, in the main. Sevilla are a fantastic club.Cenk is playing Champions League football but wants to come to the Premier League so you look out for a bit of that and see what might improve you in the future. I was very impressed with Sevilla on the night, they were absolutely outstanding and how they mastered the pressure of Old Trafford. Which meant I’ve never seen an Old Trafford quite so quiet as I saw them.”

Sam Allardyce Reveals Christmas Schedule for His Everton Players

Everton manager Sam Allardyce reveals that his players will not be called in for Christmas training, as he never liked the regime while as a player. The English tradition of Boxing Day football means that players will be called in for training on Christmas for the subsequent match. However, Allardyce says that he never found this to be beneficial and that it would be better if players went straight into the games. Fatigue is one of the commonly discussed elements at this time of the year, as players go through a gruelling schedule that involves matches on Boxing Day and New Year. There is also another match scheduled in between this period, thus making up for almost 7 to 8 matches – for the top teams – during December.

Allardyce has made a return to management with Everton and he will be looking to transform his successful days to Goodison Park. The former Bolton and Newcastle manager has experienced team and success wherever he has been, but he recently decided to leave the West Ham managerial role for the England job. After the controversy with England, Allardyce took some time off before returning to management. He has had a successful time back in the game after getting Everton unbeaten in six matches – including draws against Liverpool and Chelsea.

Andy Gray believes Everton lack leadership

Everton legend Andy Gray believes his former club are devoid of confidence and leadership following their 2-1 defeat at the hands of Lyon. The Toffees suffered another damaging loss in the Europa League after Bertrand Traore bagged a late winner for Bruno Genesio’s men. As a result, the Merseyside outfit are at the bottom of Group E, and they require a huge upturn in form in the final three games in order to avoid elimination.

In a report covered by The Mirror, Gray was not pleased with the performance of his ex-club, and targeted Ashley Williams, in particular, after the Welshman involved himself in mini-brawl in the second-half, he said: “I watched on Thursday in despair and I texted two or three old team-mates to clarify what I’d seen was right. I wanted one of them to say, ‘No, no, no…’ But they came back and said exactly what I was thinking. I watched a squad devoid of confidence, devoid of belief and without leadership. If Ashley Williams thinks shoving a goalkeeper to the ground is leadership… No, it’s not. What I will ask is, ‘If not Koeman then who?’, because it’s always easy for people to say, ‘He has to go.”

Everton are presently lingering just two points above the drop zone after eight games played, and this is far beyond the expectation of the club’s hierarchy, who spent in excess of £120m in the summer. The Toffees were initially touted as potential candidates for the Champions League spot, but the departure of Romelu Lukaku has notably reduced their goal-scoring threat.

The likes of Sandro Ramirez and Dominic Calvert-Lewin are still adapting to the pace of the Premier League whilst Wayne Rooney appears past his prime – with just one penalty goal scored in the past six outings. Everton take on Arsenal (Premier League) and Chelsea (League Cup) in the next two matches, and Gray is hopeful that the Toffees can at least provide a strong performance to bring cheer to the fans.

Fabregas wants to prove critics wrong

Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas has vowed to prove critics wrong and to show them that he can still play at the highest level. The player has been under pressure in recent games for his failure to impose himself at the heart of the Chelsea midfield, and many fans and pundits have called for the player to be dropped from the first team.

Indeed with Drinkwater returning to form after being out with an injury, some pundits are calling for Antonio Conte to drop Cesc Fabregas from the team and play a central pairing of Drinkwater and Kante at the heart of midfield. Continue Reading
