Everton will be hosting Chelsea at Goodison Park this weekend, in a game that could promise a huge shift in the title challenge.


Goodison Park has been a fortress for Everton in recent months, as they have managed to win the last seven games at this ground. Their last defeat at the Goodison Park was against Leicester City in the FA Cup back in January. This impressive run has been a major factor behind Everton being in contention for the Europa League places along with the likes of Manchester United. Chelsea come into the game with a four-point advantage in the title race, but Everton manager Ronald Koeman believes that the visitors will be daunted by the blue’s impressive home record.

Chelsea have been certainly been showing shaky form in recent weeks. Schneiderlin Credits Ronald Koeman for Rediscovering His Joy of Football

Everton midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin has credited manager Ronald Koeman for helping him rediscover the love of football.


The Frenchman was brought to Goodison Park in the January transfer window for around £ 20 million from Manchester United. Everton had made Schneiderlin as one of their primary transfer targets several months ago, and they had to resist attempts from the likes of Tottenham in order to sign the 27-year-old. Schneiderlin spent a huge chunk of the first half of this campaign on the bench or in the dugout – as he largely featured in the match day squad.

Barcelona have reportedly been taking a look at Everton manager Ronald Koeman as a potential candidate to succeed Luis Enrique, when the manager steps down from his role at the end of the season.


After the 6-1 win over Sporting Gijon, Enrique announced that he would leave the club at the end of the campaign. It comes as no major surprise considering that there have been several rumours concerning the manager over the last few months. Enrique has only fuelled the rumours by staying silent about his future up until now. Now that his decision has been revealed, Barcelona are on the lookout for a new manager once again.

Ronald Koeman, Jorge Sampaoli, Mauricio Pochettino, and Ernesto Valverde are some of the names linked with the managerial job in the summer. Since Barcelona always prefer a candidate who has previous experience of being involved with the club, there is a high likelihood ofKoeman being offered the job, despite the 53-year-old having moved to Everton only in the summer. LIVERPOOL TO SELL DANIEL STURRIDGE

Liverpool are reportedly open to selling Daniel Sturridge at the end of the current season as they remain frustrated with the injury situation of the Englishman.


Liverpool are under pressure, with their stellar form set to end woefully with the string of poor form at the club of late.

Reds manager Jurgen Klopp is said to be unhappy with the injury record of the player. The German wants a stable attacking force at Anfield and might look out for options. The Mirror reports that Klopp thinks Sturridge does not play enough games to have a future at the club.

Whilst the former Borussia Dortmund boss knows that Sturridge remains one of the best goalscorers in the Premier League, he also knows that the injury record of the player is a limiting factor for the club.

Sturridge has scored 59 goals despite being only able to feature 111 times in four years. Klopp would add a ‘stable’ attacking player and let Sturridge go. Ronald Koeman says that he will have to sell Everton’s project in order to convince new players to join the club in January.


After being appointed in the summer as the replacement for Roberto Martinez, the Dutchman has had a mixed time at Goodison Park so far. His Everton team started the campaign extremely well and were tough to beat. It was a reminiscent of times under David Moyes when it was all about keeping a clean sheet and not letting the opposition take control in the game. This attribute declined somewhat during the days under Martinez, who was more focused on attractive football.

It is understood thatKoeman is very keen on strengthening the Everton squad in January so as to avoid a poor second half to the season. Wales skipper Ashley Williams has revealed that Everton players will have a roundtable to discuss their issues this week in a bid to rid out inconsistency.


Everton started the campaign well under new boss Ronald Koeman but they have quickly fallen off their high.

Everton are distraught after their display ensured they shared the spoils with Swansea when they faced-off last week. Williams confessed that the team was frustrated even with the Seamus Coleman equalizer in the last minute.

“It is frustrating for all of us. We are trying our best but for whatever reason this [inconsistency] is happening. This week we will speak a bit more about that because I feel it is definitely something we need to work on in the 90 minutes and from game to game,” Williams who moved from Swansea to Everton this summer said. Koeman Does Not Expect Romelu Lukaku to Stay at Everton for a Long

Everton manager Ronald Koeman has surprisingly admitted that Romelu Lukaku would probably leave the club since a player of his quality deserves to be playing in the best competitions.


It comes as a statement that may attract a lot of backlash from the club supporters. Lukaku is the club’s record signing after having cost £ 28 million from Chelsea in the summer of 2015.

Everton were able to play this figure after witnessing Lukaku’s impressive performances on loan at the club a year ago. A player of incredible talent, Lukaku has continued to remain as one of the top players in the Premier league even in the 2016-17 season.

The player came in with a transfer request in the summer which was turned on by the club. Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has stated that Steven Gerrard will always be welcome at Anfield now and in the future. He said that a player of his reputation is an incredible asset for a team like Liverpool and that he will always be a hero in Liverpool.

The former Liverpool manager who is currently playing with Major League Soccer side LA Galaxy has always stated that he wants to return to Liverpool at the end of his career. The player whose contract will expire at the end of the season has yet to decide on what he wants to do next.
