Ronald Koeman Admits to Possibility of Signing Diego Costa

Everton boss Ronald Koeman has sensationally refused to rule out a potential move for Chelsea striker Diego Costa, who is very keen on leaving the club in this summer transfer window.

Costa was the top scorer at Chelsea last season as his 20 goals in the league helped the club lift the Premier league for a second time in the last three seasons. However, manager Antonio Conte decided to not make him out of the plans for the 2017-18 campaign and he has been at loggerheads with the club ever since. Costa has been angling towards a move to Atletico Madrid, his former club, but the move has not materialised due to a variety of issues.

Atletico Madrid are banned from signing new players until January. Hence, even if Costa makes the move, he will have to train without any football for the next few months. Furthermore, Atletico are also far away from matching Chelsea’s £ 50 million valuation of player. Continue Reading

KOEMAN: EXPECT MORE FROM EVERTON THIS SUMMER

Everton FC manager Ronald Koeman has dismissed talks that his side have been big spenders this summer.

The Dutchman insists that more activity should be expected before the transfer deadline. The former Ajax boss says he still wants to add at least three players in Gylfi Sigurdsson, a defender in the left wing and a goal poacher to play centre forward.

Koeman explained that after selling off RomeluLukakuto Manchester United in a mega deal that brought in around £90 million, the club was within their limits with regards to transfers so far.

“I heard every time that ‘Everton is spending £100 million, £100 million, £100 million’ but I saw the list and I think we’re 16th in the league for spending and we got £95 million for Lukaku. We’ve only spent £7 million. It’s a different picture then the media is talking. Three positions we need,” Koeman said. Continue Reading

Ronald Koeman insists Wayne Rooney is still one of the best in his position

Everton boss Ronald Koeman admits Wayne Rooney is still one of the best in his position despite falling out-of-favour with Manchester United and England last season.

The 31-year-old joined the Toffees on a free transfer earlier this month and he has since made an immediate impact for the Merseyside club.

Rooney hit a sublime long range effort in his comeback game against GorMahia while he also found the scoresheet against Belgian club Genk. The veteran made just 15 league starts for United last term, but Koeman does not believe the striker has lost his key attributes.

He told the club’s official website: “He has a lot of experience. He is an important player on the pitch but also important for his team-mates and certainly the young players to show them what you need to do to reach that high standard of football. That means he needs to be a leader off the pitch and if I see how he’s working and what he’s doing with all the players it’s really what we want. Every day in training so far and in the friendlies, you see why he’s one of the best in his position and one of the best players.” Continue Reading

Everton plot stunning swoop for Arsenal forward

Everton are planning a £30m bid for Arsenal forward Theo Walcott during this summer’s transfer window.

The England international bagged an impressive tally of 19 goals for the Gunners last season, but his future is still uncertain amid the club’s desire to sign a new attacker.

Walcott, 28, has been a brilliant servant for the north London giants over the past decade, racking 104 goals across all competitions, but his inconsistency in front of goal has brought frustration among the club’s faithful, who expect more from a player of his calibre.

According to The Mirror, the Toffees are lining up a potential attempt to sign Walcott, who is desperate to prove himself ahead of the 2018 World Cup. Walcott could not quite make the Three Lions squad despite his performances last season, and he will be concerned by the reduced playing time received during the backend of the Premier League campaign. Ronald Koeman is glad at having secured the services of his countryman and one of the most promising young playmakers in the world Davy Klaassen.

Everton has paid a hefty amount to Ajax to buy Klaassen and Koeman is believed to be the big reason behind the signing of the Dutch player.

As per Koeman, Klaassen is one of those Footballers who are young, but, despite that, are very, very experienced and matured.

SWANSEA DEFEAT EVERTON TO LEAVE DANGER ZONE

The battle to remain in the top flight has entered another level with the defeat of Everton FC by Swansea.

Fernando Llorente’s header in the first half was enough to heat up the relegation battle. The 1-0 precious result for the Swans also hampered the Toffees dream of finishing higher in the Premier League this term.

Llorente grabbed his 13th goal of the term, helping the team to leapfrog their rivals Hull City to the 17th spot on the log. Hull had surprisingly lost to relegated Sunderland to put their hopes on a shaky front, particularly with few games left. Swansea are a point above them but if the season ends this way, it is the Tigers that would move back to the Sky Bet Championship.

Everton had already qualified for the Europa League so there was little to fight for. However in the final minutes of the duel, Paul Clement and his boys had their hearts in their mouth as Everton chased an equalizer.

Liberty stadium was bubbling with the news of Hull’s loss. The whole of Southern Wales prayed for their team to get a victory and victory did they get. The guests started the attempt at goal first as RomeluLukakusent his header straight at keeper Lukasz Fabianski. The middle was packed as both sides wanted to get the ball more. Ronald Koeman Praises Ross Barkley for Winning Goal against Watford

Ronald Koeman says that he is extremely pleased with Ross Barkley’s goal against Watford, which helped Everton end a disappointing run of results with a 1-0 win.

The midfielder scored from a long-range effort to once again illustrate his quality to the team. Prior to the game, the manager had warned the midfielder to sign a new contract or risk the possibility of being sold from Everton. Earlier in the campaign,Barkley was heavily criticised by Ronald Koeman for his failure to transfer his undoubted talent into action performances on the pitch. This criticism seems to have worked well, as Barkleyhas been in excellent form in the second half of the season.

The midfielder has now scored five goals and created nine for his teammates in 35 league appearances. Yet, rumours continue to persist around his future. Only a few years ago, a number of top clubs were ready to take Barkley even for around £35 million. Continue Reading
