RODRIGUEZ ON VERGE OF EVERTON EXIT

Everton playmaker James Rodriguez is on the verge of leaving the Merseyside club this summer. This is according to the newest reports in the media which claimed that the Colombian international wants to leave Everton after the club appointed a new manager in Rafael Benitez.

Carlo Ancelotti had a big influence in Rodriguez joining Everton from Spanish giants Real Madrid but the Italian tactician has since left his position as the Everton manager to take upa similar position at Real Madrid. Ancelotti has returned to the 13-time European champions Real Madrid for his second spell this summer after penning a three-year deal.

On Colombian national team player Rodriguez, a report from media outlet Antena 2 said that the former FC Porto and AS Monaco midfielder is closing in on a move away from Goodison Park.

AC Milan finished second at the end of the Italian Serie A last season and club officials have been active in the transfer market this summer in a bid to bolster their squad ahead of their return to Champions League football in the new season. Rodriguez could be one of the new faces at Milan this summer as he has been offered to the Rossoneri by his agent, Jorge Mendes.

Milan legend Paolo Maldini and other club officials have been left fascinated with the idea of signing the Everton player this summer. The aforementioned report stated that Rodriguez will earn around €6m (£5.2m)on a yearly basis and around £100,000 weekly which is slightly higher than his current weekly salary at Everton. Colombian player Rodriguez earns £90,000 weekly at Goodison Park.

On his transfer fee, it was reported that Rodriguez will move to the San Siro for just €10m (£8.6m) as he has a year left on his present contract at Everton. He could be the man to replace Turkish international HakanCalhanoglu who has left Milan to join city rivals Inter on a free transfer.
