Since the Arsenal game, Everton have drawn one and lost three of their four league games with Spanish tactician Benitez in the dugout including two successive losses against Brighton and Hove Albion & Norwich City.

The win over Arsenal was followed by the 3-1 loss at Crystal Palace with Chelsea loaneeConor Gallagher netting a brace for the hosts. England international Gallagher is on loan at Palace from Chelsea for the season. Everton stayed in London for their next league game, a battling 1-1 draw at Chelsea with a depleted team. The games against Brighton and Norwich followed the Chelsea draw.

For the Norwich City game at Carrow Road on Saturday, Everton were the favourites but they still managed to end up on the losing side thanks to the goals from Michael Keane (own goal) and Adam Idahwithin two first half minutes. Brazil star Richarlison came on as a substitute in the second half to pull one back on the hour mark but it turned out to be too little too late.

It was reported after the Norwich City game that the Everton board members are meeting to discuss the future of Benitez who signed a three-year deal to become the new Toffees manager last summer. A lot of Everton fans kicked against his appointment due to his Liverpool background.
